Creative Ways To Prepare Your Child For Kindergarten!

She has a very strong grasp of the letters and their sounds and is able to work her way through sounding out some words. She is very excited to be able to look at a book and see more than just letters jumbled on the page.

Nature’s Alphabet

September 4th, 2009

We recently returned from our annual family vacation to San Juan Island. It was a much needed trip—we all were able to take a break from our daily routines and unwind. Who would have thought that grabbing a camera and heading out for a morning of exploration could be so much fun?

After capturing some of the natural wildlife that surrounded us we decided to engage in an alphabet game inspired by Discovering Nature’s Alphabet, a prior Pre K Scholars book review. Looking for the letters of the alphabet amongst “untouched” nature was entertaining for all, and it was an incredibly enriching activity—definitely a teachable moment for my 41/2 year olds!

I think we were successful in capturing nature’s alphabet..take a look and see:
