Florida alters kindergarten readiness test

A friend passed along the following article, from The Tampa Tribune, which outlines changes to Florida’s kindergarten screening test. Students have previously been tested on letter recognition and initial sound, but will now be tested on letter recognition and phonetic word blend. The tests are to be administered in the first 30 days of the school year.
